There are numerous World of Warcraft professions providing opportunities to earn WoW gold. While popular professions including mining, jewelcrafting and blacksmithing are favored by gamers, the alchemy profession is somehow neglected. The main reason is that alchemy pays out on reaching higher levels, especially when a player hits the 250+ mark.



Alchemy is considered a useful profession in World of Warcraft if a player learns to trade his potions effectively. Potions are useful items that can be traded for WoW gold. When you are an alchemist, it is easier to prepare potions. You will have to select either the potions or the transmutes to prepare and sell for yellow cash in the Auction House. Of course, mats (materials) will be required to create both potions and transmutes. But once you have created the finished product, you can sell it for WoW gold at the Auction House. At such levels, an average player can earn upto 150 gold units in an hour.

There are a few drawbacks of alchemy profession as well. Especially with the introduction of the new expansion pack, the high prices of materials can render potion making quite a daunting task. The best way to balance things out is to choose an Alchemy-Herbalism combo. It will ease the pressure off from making potions and elixirs using pricey mats. The expansion also has good news. You will have the opportunity to make a host of high level potions and elixirs, which of course, can later on be used to make a decent amount of WoW gold!
